DSH Insurance underwrites its home building insurance.
DSH Insurance reduces the risk of underinsurance by setting the Sum Insured for you based on the full replacement cost of your home using new materials at today’s prices.
We take a personalised approach by asking a series of questions about your property and using our Building Cost calculator. This approach allows us to accurately calculate the full replacement cost of your home and means you can have peace of mind that should something happen, you will be fully covered.
When we calculate the full replacement cost of your home, we include costs associated with the replacement of any permanent features such as timber floors, verandas and pergolas, garages and carports, swimming pools, fences, external structures (e.g. sheds), concrete paths and paving. We also factor in costs for temporary accommodation, loss of income if the home is rented out, demolition and removal of debris, and plans and permits.

Premiums are competitively priced and based on:
- the Sum Insured value which takes into consideration the individual attributes of the policyholder’s home, and
- the likelihood of certain events (e.g. floods, cyclones, bushfires) occurring in a particular location (i.e. street address) and the impact of those events.
